“This is Virginia, and we are Americans”

— Jac Bennington

Jac’s parents moved to Warrenton in 1990.

He enjoyed an idyllic childhood on 10 acres where he grew up with horses as well as an assortment of dogs and cats. After he graduated from Fauquier High School in 1997, Jac attended Ferrum College. He graduated in May of 2001 with a degree in Religion and a minor in Spanish.

Committed to service, Jac started as a Youth Director at a church in Alexandria, VA before joining the Army in 2003, serving as a Logistics Officer in Korea. Right before deploying, he met Lindsey, and after long-distance communication, they reunited in Colorado when he was stationed at Ft. Carson. They married in 2007, and Jac pursued a Master’s in Education at UCCS. However, he was recalled to the Army and deployed to Afghanistan, where he worked alongside Afghan soldiers.

Upon returning, he secured a teaching position at Fauquier County Public Schools in 2009 and moved back to Warrenton. Seeking additional ways to serve, he joined the Virginia National Guard in 2010, later becoming a Lakota helicopter pilot. His military service took him to various locations, including a deployment to the Southwest border in 2020-21, where he witnessed the consequences of political gridlock firsthand.

Jac and Lindsey are parents to two boys, Canaan and Jonathan, who are enrolled in Culpeper County Public Schools.

Jac is running for Delegate in Virginia’s 61st District, believing in the power of collaboration and embracing change. He sees transformation in his community and wants to ensure Virginia evolves in a way that benefits all.

Let’s do this!
